MyEnergi Zappi (3-Phase) – Phase Rotation Settings #
If your Zappi 3-phase charger is only charging on one phase, this is usually caused by an incorrect phase rotation setting.
The issue can be resolved by adjusting the Phase Rotation in the Zappi Installer Settings.
Before You Start #
-
Ensure no vehicle is actively charging
-
You must have access to the Zappi unit
-
This adjustment is software-only (no wiring changes required)
Step-by-Step Guide #
1️⃣ Access the Installer Menu #
-
Go to the Zappi main screen
-
Press the Menu button
-
Select Other Settings
-
Choose Advanced
-
When prompted for the installer code, enter:
0000
2️⃣ Locate Phase Settings #
-
Scroll to Grid Setup or 3-Phase Settings
(menu name may vary depending on firmware version) -
Select Phase Rotation
3️⃣ Rotate the Phases #
You will see phase order options such as:
-
ABC
-
BCA
-
CAB
👉 Select the next rotation in the sequence
(e.g. if currently set to ABC, change to BCA).
4️⃣ Save & Restart #
-
Confirm the selection
-
The Zappi will restart automatically
5️⃣ Test Charging #
-
Plug the vehicle back in
-
Confirm the charger now operates on all three phases
-
11 kW (typical 3-phase domestic limit)
-
22 kW (if supported by vehicle and supply)
-
Still Not Charging on 3 Phases? #
There are only three possible phase orders.
👉 If the issue persists, repeat the steps above and select the next phase rotation option until correct operation is achieved.
Need Help? #
If the problem continues after all three rotations:
-
The issue may be related to CT clamp orientation, grid configuration, or supply limitations

Quick Troubleshooting Checklist #
If the Zappi is still not charging correctly on all three phases, please check the following:
-
✅ Vehicle supports 3-phase charging
(Some EVs are limited to single-phase AC charging even on a 3-phase supply) -
✅ Zappi model is 3-phase
(Zappi 3-Phase required for 11 kW / 22 kW operation) -
✅ Charging mode is correct
-
Try FAST mode for testing
-
ECO / ECO+ may limit power depending on available energy
-
-
✅ CT clamps are correctly installed
-
Grid CT is on the incoming supply
-
CT arrows point towards the consumer unit
-
CTs are assigned to the correct phases in settings
-
-
✅ Grid supply is genuinely 3-phase
-
Confirm at the main distribution board
-
Check for missing or dropped phases
-
-
✅ No phase imbalance or supply fault
-
Low or missing voltage on one phase can force single-phase charging
-
-
🔄 Re-check Phase Rotation
-
Try all three rotation options (ABC → BCA → CAB)
-
Still Not Resolved? #
If all checks above are confirmed and the issue persists, the problem may be related to:
-
Site-specific wiring
-
Network supply limitations
-
Advanced configuration or firmware
